Over 100 people descended on the Sustainability Trust in Wellington last night — despite wind, rain, hail, and a lightning strike that busted up the Zephyrometer by the airport — to celebrate PledgeMe getting its equity crowdfunding license.

We shared our success of getting one of the first licenses with friends, past project creators, current project creators and future equity investors. A quick hands up showed that a third of the people in the room had successfully funded a project. We had everyone from the people who crowdfunded Rageface to a guy who built a motorcycle. In fact the person who organised the party, the wonderful amazing talented super woman and PledgeMe Wrangler Extraordinaire Jen O’Sullivan, has successfully funded three projects!
We also had a current campaign creator — Jessica Howard — perform for us. Check out her project and help fund her EP.
All the while we sipped on a teal coloured beer brewed especially for us by Stu at Yeastie Boys. Big shout out to Stu and his team for not only literally coming to the party but helping us with an on-brand teal steel brew!

With over 600 successfully funded projects and over $2.5 million raised, PledgeMe has a track record of helping kiwis succeed. That success is growing and becoming more and more obvious. Whether its a nomination for a silver scroll or building an amphitheater or helping a startup start up PledgeMe is there helping kiwis fund the things they care about. That’s the same success we’re going to bring over to the equity side of PledgeMe.
The PledgeMe Party is coming to Auckland next week. Come celebrate with us again on Thursday 21. Check out the Facebook event for more details. Everyone is welcome whether you’re a past project creator, a prospective equity funder, or just someone whose life has been made a little bit better by a PledgeMe project and you’re looking forward to more of that in the future.
Yeah that’s what I’m talking about ba-cnb-iye work!
